mobiCut (Android app, package app.mobicut) · Last updated: 6 November 2026
Summary
mobiCut is a video editor that works entirely on your phone. In short:
- Your videos never leave your phone. Editing and export happen on the phone; nothing is uploaded.
- No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. We collect no personal data and share nothing.
- No internet. The app doesn't even have permission to use it.
- Pro is handled by Google Play. We never see your payment details.
- You're in control. Delete a project, an exported file or the app, and it's gone.
Who we are
mobiCut is developed by bmesoft. bmesoft is the individual developer Ondřej Spilka, Czech Republic, who is responsible for the app and this policy. See Contact below.
What the app accesses and why
Videos, pictures and audio you choose. When you start a project or add a picture or soundtrack, you pick the file with Android's own picker (Gallery or Files). mobiCut gets access only to the files you pick, not to the rest of your storage. It reads them on the phone to show the preview, the timeline and file details (length, resolution) and to export your edit. Nothing is uploaded.
Your projects. Your edits (cuts, speeds, texts and other settings), the project name, a link to the source files, a small thumbnail, and copies of the video stills you take and of the pictures you use as graphics are saved in the app's private storage on your phone, so you can continue later. Deleting a project removes it. Uninstalling the app removes them too, unless you choose to keep the app's data in Android's uninstall dialog.
Exported files. Exported videos are saved to Movies/MobiCut on your phone. They're your files: mobiCut doesn't send them anywhere, and they stay when you uninstall the app.
Settings. A few app preferences (such as your edition) are stored on the phone.
Error reports. If mobiCut crashes, a description of the error is saved on the phone and shown when you next open the app, so you can copy it and send it to us yourself if you want to. It's deleted once shown. Nothing is sent automatically.
mobiCut does not access your camera, microphone, location, contacts, accounts or any other data, and asks for no runtime permissions. Besides view network connections (added by Android's media library, which can only check whether the phone is online), the app has Google Play's billing permission, used only to ask Google Play whether Pro is unlocked and to open its payment screen. Neither lets mobiCut connect to the internet or send anything.
What we collect and share
Nothing. mobiCut has no server, no account, no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or other third-party data collection, and it does not sell or share any data. Because the app cannot connect to the internet, no data leaves your phone through mobiCut.
Services from others
These are not part of mobiCut's own data handling, but you may meet them while using it:
- Android backup. If you have turned on backup to your Google Account, Android may include mobiCut's projects (not your videos) in that backup so they come back on a new phone. This is done by Android under Google's privacy policy; you can turn it off in your phone's settings.
- Google Play. Installing from Google Play, and buying Pro or starting its free trial there, is handled by Google. Payments go through Google Play; mobiCut never sees your payment details and only learns from Google Play whether Pro is unlocked on your account. See Google's privacy policy.
- Links and feedback. This privacy policy is part of the app and opens without the internet (Privacy on the welcome screen, Privacy policy in Settings). Docs opens mobiCut's documentation on bmesoft.eu and What's new its release notes on GitHub, in a browser tab over the app. Rate mobiCut opens mobiCut's Google Play page, and Share mobiCut hands a message with that link to the app you choose; mobiCut sends nothing itself. Sending feedback through GitHub issues happens on GitHub under GitHub's privacy statement. Whatever you write in an issue is public; please don't include personal details.
Children
mobiCut is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Since mobiCut does not collect or store personal data anywhere except on your own phone, all of it stays under your control: you can delete projects in the app, delete exported files, or uninstall the app. If you have any question or request about your data, including your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), contact us.
Changes
If mobiCut ever starts handling data differently, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change.
